Although, such a step isn’t taken yet. It’s based on reports only. However, Bloomberg reports first came out on Monday, “India seems to ban Chinese smartphones under 12000 rupees to give a boost on the Indian smartphone manufacturing companies like LAVA, Micromax, and others. The move will aim to push Chinese giants like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo out of the lower segment of the second-largest mobile market in the World.”

The Direct impact falls upon the consumers, who are using those budget-friendly phones for a long time. But it’s not mandatory that “Made in China” written phones will create any issue. If you want to know how much it will affect the Chinese economy, I would like to say, India has recently banned PUBG again along with other 50 Apps that cost 200 million dollars loss in a year. Also, Indian citizens purchase Chinese phones for over 1.5 lakh crore rupees according to the conservative average. So, the step to ban Chinese smartphones under 12000 rupees will affect the Chinese economy.

Why Indian Government Do It?

Well, the main reason is to raise the business of Indian smartphone manufacturing companies like Micromax, LAVA, and others. Due to budget-friendly prices and lots of features, smartphones from Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo are so popular. And, the smartphones from Micromax and LAVA can’t compete with them at all. Here, you might think that government should help these Indian companies to grow, instead of taking such a step, right?
